Mother’s Day is a day I have come to appreciate and have watched and listened to many stories that have helped me understand the depth and layers that may come in celebrating this special day. As we get older, we realize more and more how much our own mothers did for us. How they raised us to grow independently, the sacrifices made, and the care given. And we may even scratch our heads at times thinking how the heck they did it all, and without iPhones or iPads, I mean for real?!?
It’s a day that every mother deserves to be honored and celebrated and a day for your children to shower you with their love, appreciation, and generosity. As the years pass, I have experienced the realities of what this day means for so many, and the range of emotions it brings, being a happy day to celebrate the blessings of our dedicated mothers who give, help, and nurture us every day. A special day to express gratitude to all the fabulous women in our lives, a day to cherish the moments of being together, and a day to reflect and honor the mothers who we remember in our hearts. No matter what this day signifies or the different emotions that may surround it, my wish for you all is to feel appreciated and celebrated.
If today is a sensitive day that triggers pain in wishing for one more opportunity to say thank you, my wish for you is to be comforted in remembering the happy traditions and beautiful tributes you once shared with your mother. The memories of being loved, nurtured, and raised by a beautiful woman figure who paved the way for you to grow, succeed, and blossom into your very own. Her legacy remains constant in your heart.
If today sparks a daydream of one day celebrating your own Mother’s Day, my wish for you is to remain hopeful and at peace in knowing you are loved by so many who admire and respect your strength. You are a devoted wife, aunt, daughter, sister and friend who gives so much of yourself already and are making a difference in the lives of those around you.
If today finds you exhausted in your own journey of motherhood, my wish for you is to find rest, find time for yourself to reset and remember that you are doing it, you are making a huge positive impact in the lives of your children and your family. Give yourself the credit you so deserve.
If today finds you spoiled with Mother’s Day wishes, with flowers and homemade cards, or breakfast in bed, my wish for you is to smile, feel those special feelings of joy, of accomplishment, of pride, knowing that the unconditional love you give every day does not go unnoticed or unrecognized. You are appreciated in all you do for your family. You are the glue that holds it all together! All you mothers are simply amazing!
Wishing the incredible women in my life a very Happy Mother’s Day. To my Nana-the woman who inspires me and holds us together with her wisdom. To my own wonderful mother who does it all, selflessly, with grace and strength. To my mother-in-law who dedicates all she does for our family with her nurturing care, to my cousins and aunts who are raising our future generation, to my amazingly strong sister who allows me to feel like a second mother to my niece, and to all my loving girlfriends who show me how joyful and beautiful the gift of motherhood truly is. Thank you.
I celebrate the strong, the brave, the big-hearted women who are doing it, day in and day out. No matter what this Mother’s Day signifies for you and the emotions that may come in celebration and remembrance, be where you are today, knowing you are loved and appreciated. You are the guiding light for so many and we thank you! Wishing a Happy Mother’s Day to all!
