This is one of my favorite weeks all year, the week of giving thanks, no gifts, just the simplicity of being together (with food and dessert of course)! I always find myself reflecting during this week every year, asking myself “where was I in this season last year”, “how has this year felt in comparison to last”, “in what ways have I grown, in what ways have we grown”?
It’s that time of year that I use as a personal checkpoint to change the things that I may not be completely satisfied with and appreciate the things that I am so very grateful for. And the gratefulness I have felt this year in this new season of being a full-time business owner are all things I am beyond blessed and give endless thanks towards.
As I work towards wrapping up this fall season and delivering the final collections; I am looking forward to a little time to decompress around the holidays to truly enjoy and savor this magical time of year. Christmas music will be playing 24/7 starting December 1st and I am getting excited like never before to decorate our house, bake my traditional Italian cookies, cook some special meals, spend quality time catching up with dear friends, and begin working on new business offerings and workflows to enter the new year with a refreshed readiness to document and create for the families I have the privilege of working with like never before.
A season of deep breathes, journaling, and catching up with friends is slowly approaching but before that, this week of giving thanks I am pausing and wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving with the ones you love most.
